Energising a global fusion company's brand


Tokamak Energy, the cutting-edge global fusion energy company, is the first fusion energy business to have a tokamak capable of reaching a 100 million degrees. This is groundbreaking for the future, as our reliance on alternative sources of clean energy is only set to grow. Tokamak Energy’s previous identity was positioned around its technology, so it had to evolve to reflect the company’s next phase of growth: its role in protecting our planet and proving energy security.


We worked closely with the C-suite to define a new positioning, narrative and purpose for Tokamak Energy: ‘looking to protect the planet and ensure readily available energy source for all’.

The workshop we ran also enabled us to articulate a vision and a refreshed set of values for the business, showcased through a video of employees speaking to each value and what it means to them.  The role of employee insights was pivotal in the process, helping us to understand the Tokamak Energy culture and align these to the creative strategy.

Informed by the initial brand strategy, we created a new identity to help position the brand as a leading global energy company for the future. To launch and embed the new brand identity, we designed a new company website, collateral and an animation for social media.

The new brand framework and identity will enable Tokamak Energy to communicate with a broader set of stakeholders as the business continues to grow and raise awareness of fusion energy.


Tokamak Energy launched its brand with a video posted on LinkedIn. The company followed up with a second post, sharing its new identity and linking to an inspiring article by its CEO, Chris Kelsall. Both posts received high levels of engagement. We will continue to support the Tokamak team in co-ordinating the roll-out and engagement programme.

Tokamak Energy won the silver award for 'Best visual identity from the energy and utilities sector' at the Transform Awards Europe 2023.
